Espresso tonic is a versatile drink, and you can adjust the sweetness and strength of the espresso to suit your preferences. It's a great pick-me-up on a warm day or a refreshing alternative to traditional coffee.
Equipment Required:
Espresso machine, aeropress, or equivalent devices
Spice/coffee blade mill
Ingredients:
1 shot of Nikita Yerba Mate espresso (hot or cold)
1/2 cup tonic water (chilled)
Ice cubes
Lemon or lime wedge (optional, for garnish)
Maple syrup or sweetener of your choice (optional, to taste)
Instructions:
Prepare powdered yerba mate:
measure 2-3 tablespoons of Nikita Yerba Mate depending on taste or size of portafilter.
Place in spice mill and grind to a fine powder.
Brew Espresso:
infuse a shot of yerba mate espresso using an espresso machine. You can also use a stovetop espresso maker (Moka pot), an Aeropress or equivalent device for preparing an “espresso-like” infusion.
Chill Espresso:
while you prepare the rest of the drink, allow the shot of espresso to cool to room temperature or place it in the refrigerator to chill
Prepare a Glass:
fill a high-ball glass with ice cubes. The glass should be large enough to accommodate the espresso shot and tonic water
Pour the chilled tonic water into the glass over the ice.
Sweeten (optional):
add maple syrup, or your preferred sweetener if you'd like a sweeter drink. Start with a small amount and adjust to your taste
Add Citrus (optional):
add a dash of citrus juice for some freshness
Add Espresso:
slowly pour the shot of espresso over the ice in the glass. If you prefer a stronger flavor, you can add two shots of espresso
The espresso will create a beautiful layered effect.
Garnish (Optional):
For an extra touch of flavor and presentation, you can garnish your espresso tonic with a lemon or lime wedge. A citrus twist adds a pleasant aroma to the drink.

Ingredients:
1 ounce of apple cider vinegar (raw, unfiltered, with the "mother" if possible)
1/2 to 1 cup of water (to dilute the vinegar)
Nikita Northern Lights Bitter
Instructions:
Measure 1 ounce of apple cider vinegar (it's essential to use raw, unfiltered as it contains beneficial enzymes and probiotics)
Dilute the apple cider vinegar with 1/2 to 1 cup of water (to taste)
Add Nikita Northern Lights Bitter (to taste)
Use a spoon to stir the mixture thoroughly
Take the Shot: Drink the apple cider vinegar shot quickly (as a shot)
Rinse your mouth - it's a good idea to rinse your mouth with plain water to help protect your tooth enamel from the acidity of the vinegar
*Many people consume apple cider vinegar shots in the morning or before meals to potentially aid digestion or boost metabolism
Apple cider vinegar is highly acidic, so it's crucial to dilute it with water before consuming it as a shot. Drinking undiluted apple cider vinegar can be harsh on your teeth and esophagus.
Additionally, individual tolerance to vinegar varies, and some people may experience digestive discomfort or irritation. Start with a smaller amount and gradually increase it to see how your body reacts.
If you have specific health concerns or are taking medications, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating vinegar shots into your routine to ensure they are safe and suitable for you.
